Meet Patrice

My name is Patrice Davis, and I am the founder and CEO of Grants Works and the lead trainer for Grants Works Academy.

I have over 18 years of experience obtaining and managing federal grants for nonprofits, a top research university, educational institutions, and for profit businesses. I reviewed compliance variables of research grant continuation applications when I was employed as a public health analyst at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and I conducted site monitoring visits.

I managed federal grants and cooperative agreements as a recipient, subrecipient, and pass-through entity, and my work as a federal employee enhances my experience.

Since 2005, I successfully applied for and administered over $200 million in federal, state, and county grant funding from 20+ city, county, state, and federal agencies including the EPA and the U.S. Departments of Energy, Housing & Urban Development, Commerce, Education, Health & Human Services, Interior, Justice, and more.

I provided training on Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200), HHS’ adoption of Uniform Guidance (currently found at 45 CFR 75), and managing grant-funded travel.

I am one of approximately 310 Certified Grant Management Specialists in the United States as of 2024.  I am also a member of the National Grant Management Association, Grant Professionals Association, and Georgia Grant Professionals Association.

We have worked with:

This training was developed to give you a more than basic overview of federal grants. We help you understand how they are structured, how to apply, and what to do when you get funded.
